JULY 28, 2008:  The croaker are very plentiful out of oyster. We are getting in a stock of Uncle George's Lures this week.  They are very popular for the croaker. Coolers being filled up all over.  Not much flounder action going on right now because they are in closed season until Wednesday.  Spade fish are still being picked up at 4th Island of Bridge Tunnel and around Plantation Light, and the Cell.  A few signs of Cobia but not much action to report.  Red Drum being caught off the barrier island in the surf and behind Fisherman's Island.  Spot are being taken on bloodworms or fishbite bloodworms in the channel near the harbor.  We keep in stock both live and fishbite bloodworms.

JUNE 29, 2008:  Fishing is finally here to talk about!!!  Weighed in a 71 lb. Cobia caught by Jeffrey Hairr out of North Carolina.  This fish was taken off of 36A chuncking cut bait.  Rumors of croaker are surfacing over on the seaside.  A good croaker bite is drifting the last of the flood tide and first part of ebb tide.  Flouner are still tough to come by but some keepers are being landed.  Spadefish are still being caught around the bridge and the cell.  Spot are being caught suprisingly early in and around cape charles harbor.

JUNE 10, 2008:  The croaker are in and are thick up around morley's wharf and buoy 54.  The flounder bite is starting to pick up with a few being caught on both sides (Bayside and Seaside) of the water.  There are a few reports of some good grey trout bite around the bridge.  Red Drum are still being caught behind Fisherman's.  A couple of cobia were caught over the weekend and looks promising for the weeks ahead.  Spade fish have been spotted however no reports of any being caught as of yet.

JUNE 1, 2008:  The drum bite is still on however should start to fade away within the next week.  The reds are still being caught behind fisherman's island.  Few keeper flounder are being caught but should pickup within the next week off of Cape Charles.  Croaker fishing should improve shortly off of Cherrystone.  Look out for cobia and spade fish as with warmer water they should start moving in.
